How To Deal With Difficult People

Published: Tue, 03/10/15

Hi ,

Read this if you're in a business or career
where you have to deal with difficult people
from time to time.

Read it if you're a husband, or wife, or parent.

Read this if you're trying to lose weight...for real!
Because part of that process - believe it or not -
is getting better at dealing with the crazy people
in your life!

Read this if you live on Planet Earth. Because
we all deal with difficult people, and most of
us want to get better at it.

Someone asked me how I deal with counseling
and  coaching difficult people...the "bad people."

It has to do with something I call, "The Sweet Spot."

First of all there are no bad people. There are people
who do some pretty bad things, but that's always out
of ignorance, or misinformation, or often anger or hurt.

I don't know anyone who gets up in the morning and says,
"Hey, I'll think I'll be bad today."

Everyone I've ever met wants to believe they're doing the
right thing, even as they talk themselves into accepting
some pretty bad choices.

So I answered his question. Find the place where they feel
good. Where they're in their zone. Where they feel competent
and important. No need to dive right into their vulnerability...
even if that's the first place they lead you to.

Once you find someone's Sweet Spot, they start to believe
there's something better than they've been living. They start
to become your partner in healing, in striving, in achieving.
In letting go of dumb ass patterns that are beneath them.

Everyone has a Sweet Spot. Some may choose to never
find it. And it's not my responsibility to fight them tooth and
nail to get at it.

And it's not your job to allow difficult people to complicate
your life. If someone is acting like a jackass, no matter
how miraculous their inner being is,...cut them loose.

But for those who want more and are willing to see
themselves  bigger than they've been living, it's a
great starting point.

One of my newer coaching clients had a revelation...

She doesn't have to allow difficult people to take over
her life.

And in her case, she turned some of the more difficult
people in her life into allies. People who say good stuff
about her. And some even pay her!

And something strange happened...

She got healthier. Physically, emotionally, spiritually.

And financially.

If you want some up close and personal work with
me about making that happen, hit up my Coaching Page.
Plenty of options for working together.
