Violence In South Carolina

Nothing for sale today. We'll do that tomorrow.
I do want you to read this...because unless you
get yourself ready for success in all aspects of
your life, nothing I have for sale will make any
difference. Same for every other trainer.
I realize the title of this note is bound to get me
more opens than most of my notes get. I'm OK
with that.
I had just started a tai chi session at the gym, which is
normally a time of dynamic, creative peace. I couldn't
get the usual spot because a Zumba class was going
on, so I set up near the stationary bikes, which have a
TV set near them.
I open my eyes after "sinking the Qi" to video of that
poor man in South Carolina being shot in the back.
How do we expect to achieve peace and wellness
when our media is saturated with pornographic
violence and intrusions into the private lives
of strangers?
The answer is to be an extremely selective sifter of
what you choose to let in. If you take in information
by default, you will be programmed to settle for
blinding mediocrity.

Now that's not to say we shouldn't know what's
going on. There are forces at work that profit
from our ignorance. And they do so at our expense.
That includes elements of our own government.
But the sources of that knowledge...that's a whole
different ballgame.
I'm not gonna get into where I think you should get
your news from. Not interested in the whole liberal
vs. conservative thing. There will be plenty of time
for that with the next election cycle coming up.
But when someone keeps playing the same tragic
video over and over again, it's a pretty safe bet they
aren't interested in educating you, so much as getting
you to give up your own power of discerning real
from manipulated.
And if you want to be in charge of your life - that
includes your health, your relationships, your
business, your career, your spirituality...
You have to choose what you let into your thoughts,
your emotions and your behaviors.
You're in charge of that. Not the media.
Once you take control of what you let in, don't
be surprised to see not just your life get better,
but that you influence a bunch of others around
you to better life situations as well.
