Want Motivation?

(Three, if you count my "baby"turning 19 years
old...Happy Birthday Sarah!)
1. I put out a status on Facebook
that went like this...
OK, to be clear…
Anyone who says they're going to "motivate you"
is either lying or misinformed about what motivation
is…probably the latter.
People can inspire by example. They can give you
techniques to access your own power, your own
passion, your own sense of purpose. They can
help you purge bad habits and replace them with
ones that help you break through.
NO ONE will ever reach inside and "motivate" you.
It doesn't work that way. In fact, the road to success
is littered with the dead bodies of those who tried
to get (or pay) others to do what they can only do
for themselves.
Get clear on that to avoid being a victim, and step
into your own abundance.
2. I got a letter from a fitness celebrity, whose
list I'm on. Subject line: Want Motivation?
I opened it right before I started typing this note.
It's good stuff. Someone might get inspired by it
and do something good.
The numbers say for every person who starts a
new program and succeeds, 19 will start and fail.
Not pessimism. Reality.
But that's also because of how it's positioned.
It attracts a lot of people who are desperately
grabbing for a solution.
That ain't me.
I won't motivate you. I'll never motivate you.
Neither will anyone else.
See above again if you need to.
I'm calling out only to people who have a sense
of possibility.
People who are dissatisfied, but not hopeless.
And yeah...many of them won't follow through.
But I promise you my percentages will be better
than the "I'll motivate you" folks.
Anyway, this isn't a selling note.
Just an invitation to find the motivation inside.
And maybe buy the inspiration and techniques
from someone who you trust...
...not from someone who "motivates" you.
Much Love,
Larry
