(Special Report) HOW TO KEEP YOURSELF ACCOUNTABLE

Published: Sat, 10/17/15

When I ask people what their biggest challenges are
being successful in building their home businesses,
one of the first things I hear is this...

"Keeping myself on track."

In other words, holding themselves accountable
to their goals.

That's interesting, because most of these same people
are very responsible in other parts of their lives.

They show up to work on time, make sure their kids are
well taken care of, pay their taxes and (usually) avoid
getting arrested.

But when it comes to doing something that can give
them a really fun lifestyle, they do everything except
the things that will make it happen.

Is that you?

Would you like a way out of that trap?

Then let me give you a few steps you can
take...starting today.

1. Decide YOU are the only one who will do it
for you.

That means no more accountability groups.
They don't work. Ever.

2. Stay aware of your ideas. Document them immediately.

For example, I just had a thought about a piece I want to
write. It's called, "When Will You?"

I grabbed my iPhone and texted it to myself, with some
of the basic ideas.

And as soon as I did that, I had the idea to write the very
piece you're reading now.

3. Stop making everything an all or nothing deal.

It's silly to say, I will run five miles today if you haven't
exercised in months, or years.

How about, "I will run half a mile today? Or "I will
take the stairs instead of the elevator?"

Give yourself some bite-sized chunks of success to
chew on. No need to try to eat the whole elephant
in one sitting!

4. No more public declarations of what you're gonna do.

It make me cringe when I see people say they're going to
hit such and such goal by such and such date.

It's a way of psyching themselves into action.
Only problem is...it almost never works.

4a. Unless it's something 100% in your control...and
you can do it NOW.

I had the idea to write "When Will You?" I knew I wanted
to write it.

And more than that, I knew I wanted to make it something
special., because I saw too many good people let themselves
be victims of bad habits for too long.

So I decided to listen to my passion and cut off my
escape route from not writing it.

And the way I did that was to declare I would write
the piece that goes along with it by Saturday at 12:00
noon...which is when this note hit your mailbox!

5. Know your Why.

Or more specifically, ask yourself what is the outcome
of staying accountable?

Self respect? Balance? Business success? Trust from others.

Those are the things that drive most people.

And of course those are also the things that many of us
fear, even at the same time we say we want them.

That's what made me want to write, "When Will You/"

And that's the basis for How To Receive, as well as Mind
Intensive and Mind Flip, which is running now.

So there it is...five (or six) ways to keep yourself accountable.

Try 'em. And have fun with the success that's on the
other side!

Larry

P.S.: That Number 5...it's a tricky one!

It means you have the self-respect and self-worth to really
want the good stuff that comes with more accountability.

And an awful lot of people don't, even though they say
they do.

That's why HOW TO RECEIVE is so important.

And that's why the peeps in Mind Intensive and
Mind Flip cleared away so much mental and emotional
garbage...so they were able to see themselves as successes.

And the better habits went along for the ride.
