Permission To Quit
Published: Sun, 10/25/15
been following me a while.
She wanted to know if it was OK to quit something
she'd been doing for a while, and wasn't
giving her the results she was looking for
considering the amount she was spending on it.
I thought it was cool that she asked me.
And by "cool" I mean I felt flattered.
And at the same time a little off balance.
Start with this: to be successful a few
things need to happen...
You need to KNOW you are supposed to be successful.
Not "believe it." Know it.
You also need to be willing to learn from
people who've already done the thing you
want to do.
And you need to develop enough trust in your
own judgment so when it's time to make
a decision, you make it...on your own.
In other words, you don't need to get anyone's
permission to do what your head and heart
tell you is right.
Yes, listen to advice from smart people who
have your best interests at heart.
And be willing to take some risks. Invest
in your education when it's time to invest.
And when it's time to give up on something
that's outlived its purpose, let it go.
And be at peace with the choice.
If you ask someone's permission to do what's
right for you, they're usually going to answer
with what is right for themselves.
Be strong.
Let go when it's time to let go.
Peace Out,
Larry
