Hall Of Fame

Published: Fri, 09/09/16

In about 24 hours I'll be rubbing elbows with
Hall Of Famers.

Actually, t's the annual dinner and ring ceremony
of the National Basketball Hall Of Fame, at the
Mohegan Sun resort in Connecticut.

So given my five foot ten inch status, it'll probably
be elbow to hips. Yeah...these are some tall dudes!

It's always a fun event! The biggest names among
this year's inductees are Shaquille O'Neal, Yao Ming
and Allen Iverson. They were human highlight reels
for so many years.

But that's not all. Sheryl Swopps is also being inducted!
One of the pioneers of the WNBA.

So is Darell Garretson, one of the greatest and most
influential NBA referees of all time.

And so is Jerry Reinsdorf, the owner of the Chicago Bulls.
What he did to make the game the international sports
powerhouse it is today is worthy of the Hall.

Zelmo Beatty will be inducted too, posthumously.
A gentleman off the court and a beast on it. One
of those players only hardcore fans know about,
but laid the foundation for the greatness of others.

And speaking of laying foundations, Tom Izzo will
be inducted too. He never coached a game in the NBA,
but as the coach of Michigan State, he helped countless
numbers of college players find their greatness.

Yeah, it's an amazing event every year. Diane's
in Austin speaking to a marketing group, so Dr.
Brendon and I are gonna have ourselves some fun!

I don't know what your plans are for the weekend.
Probably not going where we are (though if you're
in the neighborhood, let me know!)

But if you look closely enough, you'll find greatness
all around you.

And if you settle down and dig deep, you'll find
greatness within you.

You can create your own personal Hall Of Fame.

You got this!

Larry

P.S.: If you've been watching my notes this week,
you know D. and I are building a new team.
First time we've hit this in a long while.

She's using her marketing chops, while I'm coaching,
counseling and training our new guys to find their
greatness.

If you're good with where you are, stay at it!
