As An Educator, It Appalls Me

Before Facebook...
Before Youtube.
Before smartphones.
I'm talking a long time ago.
And I watched her night after night plow through reams of
disjointed information to try and find her way to success.
She traveled to seminars that ended up being pitchfests.
She bought courses that ended up being nothing but a front,
and she spent hours on end trying to figure out what was
real, and what was just another sales pitch.
It's 17 years later and as an educator I am appalled at
what people call "training" in this industry.
At least that was until last weekend...
When I witnessed the launch of Tecademics.
Diane has been raving about this for a few months now,
and yeah...
It sounded good.
But it was hard to believe that someone had finally put
together a systematic approach to Internet marketing
without gurus, upsells, or confusing terminology.
When you become a teacher, you learn there is a very
particular sequence a student must go through in order
to master a skill.
Think about it...
There's a reason you go to first grade before second
grade, right?
And yet out in the marketing education space, people
are being bumped around from beginner topics, to
advanced topics, to intermediate topics until their
heads spin.
No wonder the bulk of people are struggling.
