Out Of Time (Four Ways NOT To Be)

Published: Tue, 04/04/17

I'm dictating these words into my iPhone,
and sending an email to myself, which in
less than half an hour will be the letter that
you read whenever you open your email!

Lots of words coming, but I can speak them
quickly. It's a way of making the best use
of time.

Which brings me to the point…

You have more of it than you let on.

This whole conversation started with a note
from a guy named Dan C.. He sent me a
private message thanking me for the Facebook
friendship we now have.

He asked me what I do, what it means to be a
counselor at No More Holding Back?

I asked him  about himself and he told me he's
working a job and building a home business to
say for retirement. Very common.

He told me how much of a challenge he has with
finding time. Totally get it.

But here's the real truth…

Anybody who wants something badly enough is
going to find ways to restructure their time.

And yes that includes those with little kids.
Been there, done that.

That includes those with full-time jobs.
Been there, done that.

And that includes people with aging parents
who live far away. Been there done that.

Here are a few more nuggets…

1. Making more time means deciding what's important.

Here's a hint: if you watch more than 10 minutes of TV
a day, your dreams aren't as important to you as you say
they are.

That's not a bad thing. It just means you need to let
go of a fantasy of home business success. If you want
them, your goals become the center of your universe,
not Netflix.

2. Your time can be used better in 1000 different
little ways.

Like dictating notes into your phone instead of typing
them out. I remember being at a conference where
someone on stage told the audience to take a typing course.

I'll go even further than that I'm doing right now: speak
into your phone or even make videos. Faster and more
personal.

Look for the little nooks and crannies you can put quality
work into. If you keep your eyes open, you'll find them.

3. Get to the heart of what you REALLY want to do.

Most people spend their "business activity time" on things
that don't turn a profit and will never turn a profit.

It feels good to be an activity. It feels better to be in profit.

Look at what the most successful people do (and make
sure they really are the most successful people,
not someone who says they're successful but doesn't
have the documentation).

They're engaging with people who want what they have
and are willing to exchange energy (money) for it.
They aren't spending a lot of time talking with a
non-target audience.

That doesn't mean they aren't friendly or keep themselves
open to new relationships even with non-prospects.

It means they value their time in themselves enough to
put it to good use. If what you've done isn't working,
do something else!

4. RELEASE THE HOUNDS!!!

Yes, that's the fun business development  course I'll
be running this summer.

Let go of whatever is holding you back from charging
at your goals like, well, the hound!

It isn't necessarily a deep psychological fear of success
(though sometimes it is). Sometimes it's just bad habits
that we don't recognize easily and ourselves.

When we do, when we free ourselves from the junk
in our lives, our hounds are released.

Study someone who charges at their business like a
hound going after the prey. What do they do? How do
they think? How do they react? Are you in the
same league as they are?

Hint: you are even if your skills aren't with them yet.

So there ya go! Take those four little nuggets and start
restructuring your time, and your life.

I can help you if you want.

Your Timely Friend,
Larry
