Don't Make This Social Media Mistake

unless that's the exact reason I start off with.
And my life is way too busy for that!
And there's a good chance you're the same way.
Most people who read my notes are involved in
the home business world in some way.
So here's what I put on Facebook earlier today...
Don't put up silly questions or requests that
people usually see as an attempt to get engagement
on your wall.
What you gain in "likes and comments" you lose in
being seen as being hard up for the interaction without
adding value.
You also distract people who are trying to keep their
focus on more important stuff.
Sure, what other people do with their online time is
not your responsibility. But you don't want to be the
cause of someone else's distraction, do you?
Look, I take your effort seriously.
I take your life seriously!
I value the trust people put in me, whether or not
they buy something from me, get coaching from
me, or join something I'm involved in.
So I'll have fun with showing people my personal
life. And I'll have fun when people show me theirs.
But I won't waste time with silly statuses or stories,
just to boost my profile.
And if someone is doing that, it's a sign they
don't understand the game, or don't respect you
- or themselves - enough to make their home
business work.
Put up fun statuses and questions, by all means.
But don't disrespect your friends and followers
by asking them to participate in nonsense.
If you obey that simple rule, you'll be taken
seriously.
And when it comes time to make an important
choice in their business or their life, they'll
remember you as a serious person.
Not the person who asked what their favorite
color is.
