Today Mike Rice, the head basketball coach at

Rutgers University was fired, the day after video

of him physically and verbally abusing his players

was shown on ESPN.

The whole story breaks my heart just a little bit.

 

I know what good coaching can do. It can take someone

who has no skills, no confidence, very little hope...

 

But who DOES have DESIRE...

 

And give them what they need to succeed beyond what

they thought was possible.

 

That wasn't going on at Rutgers.

 

I'm not gonna get into the details of that here. Read

Point is...coaching is about elevating people, not

tearing them down....though sometimes a little tough

love can go a long way.

 

That's why I love what I do. Because my folks come

out BIGGER than they went in...not smaller.
