The Enemy Of Terrorism...

The enemy of terrorism, in fact that thing
that sticks in the knife of the heart of those
who want to rule by intimidation...
Is love.
And that's not all.
Because love that's not expressed as bravery,
and strength and enthusiasm...
And yes---commerce and fre.e markets...
It won't do any good.
Silence emboldens those who rely on terror
to get what they want.
I wrote two pieces about it.

At first I thought it might be too early.
Above all else I wanted to respect those
who are going through this unspeakable
tragedy.
And as someone who lives near Newtown, Connecticut
and was deeply shaken by it, I appreciated
the respect of others.
The highest respect we can pay to our way of
life is to keep living it.
And yes, learn from mistakes and do better next time.
But communication, dialog...open markets...
That's always been the best way of preserving
liberty...and having a damn good time doing it.
As for those who want to make their point by
killing innocent people in the name of whatever...
I'm not listening. You gave up your right to be heard.
The Monster Launch goes on. Over 500 people have

on your lap. This is the 21st Century.

P.S. A few people will be offended by this post. You'll think
it's opportunistic, or ghoulish to sell stuff and connect it
to a tragedy.
How barbaric is it to wait until people gather to celebrate
the human spirit and human achievement...and blow them
up? What kind of subhuman coward does that?
If you think this is wrong, delete it, or even unsubscribe.
Even write me a hostility note if it makes you feel better.
I'm not gonna run around with my tail between my legs.
I'm going to reach out with love, compassion, a sense
of humor, and all the ambition I can muster. If I was
allowed to donate blood, I'd be doing that. (Not allowed
to until July 1, which will be one year since I was in Mexico.)
Feel free to donate blood for me, and let me know so I
can thank you publicly.
And give an extra smile or some attention to someone
who seems to need it.
And mostly...give your career, your business, your
family, whatever...give it the best you got today.
And tomorrow, and the next day.
Because the opposite of terror is joy. And ambition.
And I'm getting a little tired of terror.
