This P*ssed Off A Lot Of People

Published: Mon, 10/13/14

Three years ago I pissed off a lot of people.

On Columbus Day, 2011 I published
Christopher Columbus Loves You at No More
Holding Back.

It was a pretty daring piece, especially for someone
who continues to be one of the most polarizing figures
in the world, more than 500 years after he did his thing.

I don't blame anyone for being angry. Christopher
Columbus did a lot of damage to a lot of people.
Really, an entire civilization.

So it's with care that I still say to you...

Christopher Columbus was a hero.

And in a sense, he does love you.

And I stand by every word in the original post.

Whether you like him or not, I challenge you to read
the original. I haven't changed a word in the three
years since I published it.

Set aside what history has shown us, just for a few minutes.

Look at what you want to do with your life right now.

And see if there's any lessons for you.

Much Love,
Larry

P.S.: To those of us whose ancestors have been upended
by the conquerors...I get it. There isn't a Jewish person in
the world whose destiny wasn't forever changed by the
Nazis. And truth: no matter which end of the equation we're
on -  perpetrator or victim -harm done to one is harm
done to all.

Now, present day...what do you want to do about it?
How do you want to live? What kind of legacy do you want
to leave for the next generation?
